not bad, but not even close to xcom standards

User Rating: 6 | Phantom Doctrine PC

as an old fan of strategy games I always like tactical turn base games. I've played xcom titles these years and that was really fun. so I bought this title without any hesitation through positive critic reviews including gamespot, and however it wasn't a total letdown, but it also couldn't meet any of my expectations. Phantom doctrine isn't comparable with xcom games in any aspects and is falling behind in graphics, sounds, storyline and most importantly gameplay. graphics looks too old for 2018 however it doesn't hurt the game. game runs smoothly but gameplay suffers from several flaws such as repetitive quests and unimpressive fighting style and it didn't offer anything new that might have prevented me from uninstalling the game after a few hours of playing it. characters customization (which is one of the pros of xcom series) is too shallow in this game and you have a limit range of weapons. overall, this game is not too bad or unplayable and if you are a tactical turn base fan and don't have other options you can give it a shot, but don't expect too much.
