You may have an addictive personality which is usually caused by overcompensating for a deficiency in your hormonal chemistry. This can be caused by many things from it being natural to you having some traumatic experience in your past that leads to dramatic endorphin crashes when you aren't being over stimulated. I would suggest seeking counselling or therapy to pin point what the root cause is.

@mdk12345: You should watch Danny O'Dwyer's latest video for The Point. The gaming community has grown to the point where there are many demographics with many tastes. There are gamer out there to cater to everyone. If you like shorter games there are tons of options out there. But there also needs to be games that offer a long deep and rich experience. I have put in 180 hours in Fallout 3, 240 hours in Fallout NV, 300+ hours in ME2 and ME3, and 400+ hours in Skyrim. These are some of my fondest gaming memories spending hours on end playing a game that has consumed me fully. Something I can't get from a 6 hour game.

If you want to play more short games I strongly suggest you start looking at some indie games and episodic games

I game at 1440p. Gaming at 900p would be laughable to me. I'm surprised Diablo can't game at 1080p at 60fps because I was just playing Starcraft II at 1440p at over 75fps.

Is this what console gaming is like? Or is this a fate that other PC gamers have to endure as well?

I'm looking for an application that can monitor the internals of my PC. Like CPU temp, GPU(nvidia) temp, CPU & GPU activity, memory usage, hard drive space and temps, and so on. I don't really care if it's a widget or program. I just want something full featured, fast, and hopefully free.
