@Roland123_basic I can't really speak to how other "major game websites" do their reviews, but given that some of them negotiate exclusivity deals to post reviews before the rest of us are even permitted to, perhaps they're more concerned with timeliness than they are with quality.
@acidthumbs This isn't a column about anyone liking or disliking our reviews. Nor is it in any way related to an unfounded rumor that was perpetuated by a web comic a few years ago.
@desauce Not sure if you read the whole column, but we delayed our Brink review so that we could play it after the day-one patch was released. The "hasty" reviews were those that posted at 12:01am on Tuesday morning as soon as the embargo lifted.
@superfluid Thanks for the offer. I'm not actively looking to add any more reviewers to our team right now, but please feel free to send me your resume and any writing samples.
@Suraisa Purportedly it fixes some problems with the visuals, the AI, and the netcode. Realistically, I doubt it does even half of what it should. I'm not the reviewer on this occasion though; he's still checking it out.
@charlie_killer Review will be posting later today. The game was patched this morning, so we're testing the patched game to make sure our review is representative of the version that you'll actually be playing. No point us reporting that feature X is busted if it was fixed before you could play it.
