This is my latest build. I'm going to use it as an HTPC, after I get a new entertainment center of course.

The Specs are, Intel Dual Core E5700, Zotac Nforce 610i-ITX board, 4 gigs of Kingston DDR2 800, 160 gb

Hitachi HDD (under the mobo), and a 250 watt ITX PSU. My only real problem is that that mobo doesn't

have a graphics card slot...I'm planning on getting a wireless mouse and keyboard and building the reciever

into an NES controller and then modding the controller ports to USB like I did on my first NES-PC.

I thought this might be a fun and interesting thread for us.

Each of us shares a strange game, accessory, controller, or console from gaming's history. Give us a brief description or history on the item, and preferably a picture to go with it so we can see this oddity from years gone by, and then let another person do the same. This would work much like our "Top 100" lists.

Rules:

  • Please post only 1 item per post.
  • Please allow others to post before posting another item.

So, let's see what we can learn about together. I'll go first:

1. The Aura Interactor Virtual Reality Game Wear accessory for Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo

Interactor

If you wear this, supposedly you can feel the pain when your character onscreen is attacked. Right, because that would be awesome. dohWho's the guy sitting around the conference table going "Wouldn't be great if when your kicked in the game, it actually kicks your arse?" I bet he was in Fight Club (we don't talk about Fight Club). I've never actually used one, but from what I hear, it's nothing but a plastic vest that has a rumble-feature.

Emerald_Warrior

I have one of those...it's not that great. If it actually kicked my *** that would actually be better.

I'll add the Roll & Rocker. This thing is complete garbage. You stand on it and tilt from side to side to move the d-pad. The best part is, you plug a controller in to use the a & b buttons, and the d-pad works on the controller. Total fail.

@Emerald_Warrior The 3D0 is ok. It is more of a console for collecting than actually playing. I have the Goldstar model, and it works great but the games are either just as good as Sega Cd quality, or worse.

As for my #1 retro want...right now I'm still looking for the 1 prong hand for ROB so I can finally use him, and the guns for the Genesis and the 3D0.

They couldn't make this site glitchier if they purposely tried to code strange glitches into it. One time I tried to log out, and it gave me a 404 error. That is some pretty messed up crap there. I have a screen shot of it, maybe I'll upload it and post it.

Aside from that, I have the Hella Old School badge. I liked the Old School badge design better though.

Here is that pic...

I have a Power Joy that I got at the Thrift Store for like $2.50. That thing is terrible. It works well, but the controller is garbage, and the games are third rate knock-offs. I wouldn't suggest anybody buying one of these.

On a side note, mine has a Famicom slot in the back and plays the games. It's a moot point now that I have a Famicom though...

I have to nominate my second favorite game of all time, Dungeon Keeper 2. I played that game so much when I was a kid, it was ridiculous. The first one is great as well, but 2 just blows it away. It's funny that my second favorite game of all time is a PC exclusive, considering the PC is my least favorite way to play games.

The thing in my collection I like to tell people about the most is my JVC X'EYE. Mostly because nobody has ever heard of it. It is just the console and all of the JVC branded parts, but still cool none-the-less. Other than that, it was my NES-PC, but I'm working on a new build now.

I keep mine in plastic containers, boxes, on a shelf, stacked on top of my TV, stacked on my desk, in a cd tower, and anywhere else I can possibly fit them. Then again, when you have over 750, it gets to be a bit problematic.

I have an Odyssey 300 pong console which was released in 1976. If you want to get picky, I have a whole bunch of Odyssey 2 and Atari 2600 games, and I'm sure I have some release games for each console.
