@GiantsFan2290 -- Totally agree that we just shouldn't listen to Bioware's PR. Believe me, I'm just as frustrated as you. Casey Hudson was on our podcast before ME3 was released and said there wouldn't be any confusion for people who didn't play all the DLC and read the books. After playing the game, I strongly disagree. But I just kind of expend the things they say to not match up with reality. Just like Peter Molyneax promising trees would grow in the original Fable. It didn't make it in the game, but we didn't sue him for false advertising or make him implement them after release.

@GiantsFan2290 -- It's not "immature". I think it's presumptuous. I critique games for a living, so I have no problem tearing others' work to shreds. But I think it's crossing a line to demand a change. They are still the creators and we're still the consumers, and I think that barrier needs to be in place so they can do their jobs properly. Developers will sometimes wow us and sometimes disappoint us, and that's fine with me.

@dawso0n -- I finished Mass Effect 3 about ten days after it was released. By this time, the heated discussions about the ending had already flared up. It's been extremely difficult for me to shut out the noise and analyze the ending on its own merits. I have no idea if I actually like the darn thing or hate it, so I can't write an editorial one way or the other. That's one of the reasons I'm playing though the whole series again. I need to sink into the universe and see how I feel when it's done.

@dawso0n -- I just wrote a column a couple days ago about one of EA's lousy business practices: http://www.gamespot.com/features/permanently-unplugged-6367314/ @catfishmoon23 -- I just started another run through of the Mass Effect trilogy earlier this week. If we weren't fans, we wouldn't be so passionate about gaming. It's a silly argument.

@chaifz -- Does the ending really set up a ME4, though? I'm not sure how they would continue the story after all the devastation I (and the reapers) caused. Seemed like a real finale, even if it didn't fill in every details of the characters/species/planets fate.

@aronj -- Again, I wrote a column yesterday ripping on EA for their abhorrent business practices. You chose a bad day to accuse us of being in EA's pockets. I also had a 10 minute rant on the podcast last year when Madden came out because it was swindling fans of their money. I've railed against that company (when they screw up) for years. In this case? Bioware made an ending and we should all accept it. Praise it you want, or poke holes in it if you prefer, but that's the ending we have.

@Capt_Strife -- Totally agree. I think Bioware would avoid a lot of problems if they were better at communicating to their fans. Everything they say is poured in a PR blender before they spit it out, so their message is lost in marketing jabberwocky.

@Banefire76 -- Did you just accuse me of being in the pockets of EA? Whoa! That's the strangest thing anyone has ever said about me... today. Check out this column I wrote about their dirty business practices yesterday: http://www.gamespot.com/features/permanently-unplugged-6367314/

@Deihjan -- It doesn't matter if I liked the ending or not. I'm not going to make selfish demands based on how I personally felt. It's their story, and it's delivered like they intended. Now I just talk about what's there instead of wishing it would be something else. That's what I do in every form of art. I was disappointed by the ending of the Hunger Games (can't remember the name of the third book) and talked about how I thought it clashed with the themes the previous books had created. I didn't demand that it was changed, I accepted what it was and analyzed what was there.

@Deihjan -- How come you believe only the vocal minority who hates the ending are fans? Just about every one of my colleagues has loved Mass Effect since the beginning. Some of us (me...) have even read the books! Just because we don't start petitions doesn't mean we're not fans.
