And the issue of the founding father's is wholly different..Essentially the settlers were left to their own devices with little to no British involvement for quite a lengthy period of time...they were then taxed like hell..without representation and on a plethora of things...and the British, after leaving them to their own devices for so long..tried to reign them in... 1). Treason is treason. Breaking the law makes you a criminal. For all the laws concerned the British could have been shooting settlers on sight and they would still be criminals and capable of being sent to death. There is zero difference. 2). The taxes were actually pretty fair. Note: The founding fathers were actually pretty cool guys for their time and I think they were in the right. Still a bunch of criminals who committed treason. 1. You can't necessarily call it treason if you barely enforced your rule in the first place..the American settlers thought of themselves as separate peoples from the British..they were British in allegiance alone.. 2. The taxes weren't fair, they were being taxed on stamps and sugar etc...because the British government was desperately trying to account for their debt in regards to war(s)..Secondly, breaking a law doesnt make the guy wrong and a criminal. The founding fathers broke the law, but were they wrong? The fact that people on this board have an enormous sense of false patriotism and are getting spoon fed by the gov't is hiliarious.

The Law = infinte best thing that can never be wrong.
How about sticking to what I stated instead of the opinions of others on the board.. And the laws were barely, if at all being enforced by the British government.. The settlers made their own laws and essentially their own governmental institutions.. I.E. The House of Burgess and what not..[QUOTE="ad1x2"]
[QUOTE="DroidPhysX"] The level of false patriotism in this thread is hilarious

False patriotism? The fact that he's a Soldier and the fact that he violated the UCMJ are both statements of fact, just like saying 2+2=4 is a statement of fact. As for betraying his country, I'm not going to argue with you since one man's betrayal is another man's honorable deed according to this place.
