Really? You list No Mans Sky as a good example? Are you insane? Even after the update it is nowhere near the game we were promissed. Sure it's nice they try to get there, but using it as a good example is just insane. Pretty much the same goes for SF5, they stripped basic features of the game just to launch early.

Also what is this thread about? Are we supposed to post the worst practises we can think of

In the title it says practices/issues/etc. that still exist, which means those that have been a part of this industry for a long time but boggles oneself why it's still prevalent. And I didn't say NMS and SFV were good examples. I said I had hope because these games make an effort to make up for their mistakes, such as years of free content.

They're relatively new, but I've got hope for content locked behind a pay wall or missing at launch. At least some games give you months of free DLC and updates, like Street Fighter V, No Man's Sky, even Halo 5 is being treated like Burnout Paradise, which was awesome.

Being a lifelong PlayStation gamer, I got newfound respect for Xbox after Phil Spencer, Backward Compatibility, monthly updates and especially the recent lineup of games. Now I want an Xbox One but it's more expensive than PS4 in my country! But for you owners, did the games back up Microsoft's claim? For me, I was impressed quite a bit (games rated 83 and above in Metacritic offer good value in my opinion).

I'm curious if Nintendo fans are looking for features the competition has long had or just the tried and tested ones that has prolonged Nintendo's successful franchises. Just presume the innovations wouldn't flop like Wii U for a fair comparison.

Oh, so one of the reasons might be the memory cards. People also brush indies (even Japanese localizations) aside too easily. The Vita IS getting support and it does have many worthwhile games, just not often from big publishers. I've always said there's a treasure trove of hidden gems out there, and I've read and seen a lot of them on YouTube and PS Blog. I guess it's easier to get into a system if you know the IPs.

Mostly because it has good hardware and no games to show that power off. Not a single one.

Hmm...guess you've never seen Killzone: Mercenary. That game looks like it's on the upper echelon of PS3 games, graphically-speaking. Same engine as KZ3 too from what I've heard.

@enzoeleazar: I've been using the new UI for the past month now and I love it. It's definitely an improvement over the previous UI. I also agree with @undergroundLPx on the fact the Xbox One does everything. Sure, the PS4 has a slight advantage in graphics, but suffer for it in frame rates on a lot of games. I personally own both the PS4 and Xbox One, and own 6 or 7 games on both consoles that I play on two tv's side by side, and I cannot tell the difference between the two consoles graphically.

The graphics advantage of PS4 might be similar to the online stability of Xbox I was mentioning several posts ago. They're not that big on their own to warrant a purchase over the other console. Can you say if the new UI has a better feel than PS4's? Does it feel faster, more responsive, easier to use?

I think the answer to that question depends on the individual. For me I tend to lean towards the Xbox side of the console wars(45 X1 games vs 16 PS4 games), so my view will obviously be skewed to favor the Xbox. But to me, the PS4 dash hasn't changed hardly at all from the one my PS3 had on launch day. It's very, very stale and cumbersome. The original X1 dash was fresh(not saying I liked it, just that it was different), but more cumbersome. The new one seems to address all the issues imo. It's sleek, its fast, and it doesn't quite feel in the way as much as the old one. However I would say you might like the PS4 dash more due to your familiarity with that style of dash, it will feel fairly comfortable to you.

The things I like the most are double tapping the Xbox button and having my friends list automatically slide in from the left, on the home screen I can pin my games, and use the right trigger to go right to my pins. It is by no means perfect, they're still tinkering with it, it's not as easy to view achievements anymore which is kind of a big deal, but for a good 90% of what it does, it performs better than the old one.

I will say this, if you have a Best Buy or Gamestop near by with demo stations, the PS4 demo machines use the same dash as the retail console, or at least did when I used to sell them. That is one way to see how you feel about the PS4's dash. Plus the X1 will be updated in a week with the new dash, maybe you could try it at a friends house?

My thoughts exactly. PS4's UI looks similar to PS3's and it was never cumbersome to me. That at least removes one of the sore points of getting an Xbox One purchase (from what I read of GS's Year One review). I live in another country that seldom has demo stations in my area, sadly. I only know one person who has an Xbox and it's the original one (we're more of a PlayStation country). Thanks for that post!

It doesn't seem like the shitty portable other people say it is. Try watching these videos from Metal Jesus and GamingVlogNetwork.

Sony appears to have a knack creating these underrated handhelds. PSP had killer apps like Peace Walker and the two God of War games, plus many gems especially from Japan. Vita's pretty much the same, only with indies sharing the spotlight. It makes a lot of sense too to own a Vita if you have a PS4 because of Remote Play. I don't get why so few have it or give it the credit it deserves. Maybe the lack of AAA titles or advertising? I also nearly forgot about PS Plus (at least 2 games a month), which one of the guys above said offered good games.

@enzoeleazar: yes PSP Go is apart of the PSP line. Did you have that version?

Nope. I just think it shouldn't be part of the poll. It's still a PSP after all.

WOW, Coolyfett didnt see the official pole, its definitely not its own stand alone handheld thats for sure. What is your PSN name Enzoeleazar?

None for now. I didn't go online w/ my PS3 which I sold a while ago. A PS4 might be in the cards though.

I just switched over from PS4 and Xbox provides a funner experience. The UI/Xbox Live make your gaming experience feel richer, more dynamic. You feel like there's always something going on. Once I turn on the console, I feel like I'm presented with a thousands ways to get entertained. The community is also more social, there is more interaction... again the console feels more alive than the PS4 does. Gaming / Social / TV / Apps / Community... it's all here.

I'm expecting a lot from the new UI, given all the attention it's getting. The app ecosystem is a nice extra, but I don't see myself going past the usual stuff that every device has.
