And...System Wars Bets and Official Hype threads killed this board. It inspired dislike, disdain, and a lack of respect for other systems and their games. The big releases came out toward the end of the year and all we heard was...Awwww did you lose a bet; awwwwww too bad all your games flopped....awwwww complete your bet and leave or hit the wall of shame; pfffffffft GS must be biased for giving a score that high/low.

Lets just mock each other until we cant stand to read what anyone says.

This forum sits out-of-bounds from all the journalism goings on of late. While there are rules, this board is created and updated by us.

There will probably be about 16 Naruto games coming, too. They might be GotY's as well. Right?

What would you think of Sony if they start charging for PSN? I know I'm not the only one that sees this coming.

Nice. Now I don't have to buy a PS3. I'll save myself 200 bucks. Impex

It would be doubly sweet if Wal Mart puts them on sale similar to the $100 HD DVD player they sold in November.

I had always assumed that Sony kept their players expensive and/or tech licensing fees high in order to keep BR players artificially expensive. That would ensure the continued demand for the PS3, even if it was just to play movies.

Of the two, I would choose the Veal Cutlet seared rare and served with a port wine reduction.

[QUOTE="gromit007"]If this is true, then why does the cheapest set-top BR player cost $400? Stand alone BR players should be a LOT cheaper than a PS3.-Renegade

It's because they have to make money off them.

They also need an install base. If the PS3 costs $400 to make and you strip out EVERYTHING but the BR player from it you have a very cheap to produce product. Either the story is BS or Sony's licensing fees are keeping players at an artificially high price in order to create demand for a product not a lot of people want...the PS3.
