I think you should review what you are given, updating reviews when patches are released only encourages the "Sell now, (maybe) finish later" mentality that started with PC gaming and has now spread to consoles. By all means add a note to the bottom of a review about any patches but people have the right to know what a game is like out of the box, after all not all consoles are connected to the internet.
If Black Ops were any more scripted it would play itself, COD games have never had much freedom but this one feels like one of those on rails lightgun games.
"Artificial intelligence in games has matured significantly in the past decade" I had trouble reading the rest of the article after the opening sentence, tears in my eyes from the laughter induced by such a comical statement made it a little difficult to see the text. AI is a dumb now as it was ten years ago. They still run directly at you or just pop up and down behind those damn wooden creates developers seem obsessed with. Very few games have AI that shows any signs of self preservation, the only situation where AI would look right would be a recreation of the The Charge of the Light Brigade.
