@Voice_of_Wisdom for us it was as much about seeing if it would fit physically (without significant modding) as much as getting it powered. And it does fit, but really only just. A 580 wouldn't have stood a chance.
@rarson not true. 1080p is by far the most widely used resolution on the desktop. Not mention any HDTVs these rigs might be plugged into. And I can assure you, Nvidia does not pay for editorial placement or features.
As said in the opening para, next gen refers to Epic's (rather amazing looking) Samaritan demo, which is precursor the upcoming next gen Unreal Engine 4. And I honestly can't wait to see a game that looks liek that on PC :-)
@Evan21 not arguing, debating, which is most definitely encouraged :-) I have a gaming rig at home that I love too; I guess it's not that I think the gaming PC will go away forever, but for the vast majority of people that want to game (i.e. not the super-hardcore), a laptop/ultrabook like the M3 is going to be the first choice. Some won't even have thought about PC gaming, but if cards like the 640M mean that most ultrabooks can run them, there's more potential PC gamers out there, and more of a reason for developers to make games for the platform.
@Evan21 No, it's not top of the line that sense, but as mentioned it plays demanding games like Battlefield 3, Crysis 2 and others at high or ultra settings without issue. Why pay for something much more expensive, for what amounts to very little gains in terms of performance? Plus, you completely lose out on portability.
