New X-Men Phoenix Tapping

This section will focus on the times Jean Grey seemed to be tapping into some of the power of the Phoenix Force

Telepathy

Jean overcoming the traps Cassandra Nova had set, thus freeing Xavier's mind (New X-Men #121)
Jean attacks Emma telepathically despite the latter being in her diamond form, which is supposed to make her immune to telepathy, and breaks through her mental defenses. This is one where Jean confirms the Phoenix is involved. (New X-Men #139)

Jean Grey takes Xavier's mind and houses it in her head while still sick and dying. Jean later on takes his mind and, with Cerebra's help, divides them into every mutant mind on the planet, so that they may be a trap set for Cassandra Nova, where they would be reconstructed completely and kick Cassandra out of Xavier's body. This feat was said to be impossible by Xavier, even with Jean's Omega Level Mutant abilities and Cerebra's help. (New X-Men vol 1 #125, 126, 128.)

On the way to Montanan from Brooklyn, New York, Jean theorizes Nightcrawler was psychically tricked into believing the villains teleported away. With this, she then telepathically scans ahead to search for a powerful psychic signature. (Uncanny X-Men vol 1 #424)

Jean traverses both Rogue's and Storm's comatose minds. It isn't known if she was tapping into the Phoenix here, but we see a vague silhouette of the raptor behind her when she enters Rogue's mind, so it is possible. (X-Treme X-Men vol 1 #18)

Telekinesis

Jean taps into the Phoenix for the first time in a long time to demonstrate how helpless the soldiers are. Their psychic defenses can't protect them and she takes their equipment and weaponry apart and mess with their digestion system. (New X-Men vol 1 #120)

Jean's tk sensitivity is called the "Manifestation of the Phoenix" to where she can feel matter on the molecular with her tk. Even so far as feeling Charles pulse through the stainless steel silverware hovering around Charles Xavier. (New X-Men vol 1 #128)

By Jonathan Hickman's (current "head of x") definition of Omega Level Mutant Classifications, the upper limits of Jean's power (along with Quentin Quire) cannot be surpassed in any measurable fashion. Telekinetically, she seems to have been retconned as not an Omega Level Telekinetic like she used to. (House of X #1)

Jean being used as an example of the pinnacle of telepathic power. The Cuckoos mention that Pale-Girl is the "true Omega...more powerful than even Jean" in their bid to manipulate Quentin Quire. Xavier mentions that even wearing Cerebro, Pale-Girl is cloacked to him, except for a split second where he gets a very brief whiff of her, of which he said PG reminds him of Jean...but other, once again alluding to Jean's power. He also mentions Russia as a whole is blocked off for him, which may be due to PG. (Wolverine vol.7 #3)

Is this an idea that you think should be maintained or would you rather return to the original status quo of Xavier being the most powerful mind on Earth?"

From the people who brought you multiple psychic respect threads........

Brief Summary

Jean Grey is an omega level mutant telepath with powerful telekinesis. Her powers first arose as a 10-12 year old girl (sources vary) when her best friend was hit by a car. The distress from the traumatic experience awakened her telepathic powers that caused her to link to her best friends mind and experience death through her best friend. As a result, her power and potential garnered the attention of Professor Charles Xavier, interest from Mister Sinister for her genetic potential, and potential as a host to the all-powerful cosmic entity of rebirth and destruction, the Phoenix Force. Her parents in the end called Charles Xavier by recommendation after Jean's suddenly withdrew socially from the trauma she experienced. Xavier helped her learn to cope and offered a place with him at his school after teaching her to learn to control her abilities. Thus, under the alias Marvel Girl, she then trained to become one of the first members and the first female member on the mutant team called the X-Men.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Telepathy

As mentioned before, Jean Grey is an Omega Level Mutant whose dominant power is telepathy. Due to the immensity of her powers and lack of control she had, Charles Xavier installed psionic barriers to block these abilities while she learned to control her telekinesis as it grew naturally. Soon, Xavier removed these blocks and gave her a crash course in telepathy for a plan involving an alien threat. Since then, her telepathy had a slow growth after complications involving the Phoenix that prompted Jean Grey lose her telepathics briefly and to hold herself back when they came back. In the late-90's to early-2000's though, Jean decided to explore the limits of her powers to become the Omega we know today.

Puts her tk shields up against solar radiation that is topping the spaceship's scales. This was mentioned to be the worst Solar Storm in living memory. General Psionics

Psionic Draining and Psychic Form (sometimes referred to as Pink form or Psi form )

This is not like Jean Grey's astral form, but rather Jean Grey using her telepathy to drain the psionic energy and using to amp herself. Whether its for her telekinesis or her telepathy will go here.

Jeans gathers psychic energy from the two races of a planet. Two cities are shown to have had energy gathered from, so we are limiting the feat to saying she gathered from two cities. This Jean has lost most of her telepathy and did not have the Phoenix as the last two scans show. (X-Factor vol.1 #50)
Jean Grey and Charles Xavier absorbs rampant psychic energies from the dying amped-Shadow King and shield the X-Men from the psychic onslaught of the wild energy emanating. (Uncanny X-Men vol 1 #280)

Jean resists and breaks free of the control of the Poisons. She then drains the Poison hivemind that is connected to the entire Poison race to the point that almost the entire race dies. She also remains alive despite her body being destroyed (Venomized #4)

Psionic Constructs and Manifestations
