Okay so couple tips, firstly look up a couple quick early souls guide it will show you how to get to the dragon barrow quickly to kill a giant sleeping dragon for a bunch of souls at basically level 1, next pick up the meteorite staff and rock sling, again check a guide but easy enough, in fact you can basically get to this point without fighting anything that fights back near enough, focus a caster build and meteorite staff and rock sling will basically carry you to a point in the game where you can pick up better weapons and have some upgrades for them, this is going to be staffs for a sorcery build, you should be able to get to and defeat Renala to pick up her staff, if you look up a guide you should also be able to upgrade it quite quickly. and then from there aside from levelling to max your stats for optimal scaling (again look up soul farm guide) you're pretty set to have a go at getting through the bosses from there.

Weirdly my VOG raid ring from D2, first raid I did in D1 and then made sure I completed the reprised one in D2 in the first week, would never wear it more of a Trophy.

Reviews matter in the context of the general discussion and perception of a game, but never let someone else's opinion colour your personal enjoyment of any media.

@sonny2dap: That's actually something I really dislike in reviews. If "you" like a game genre, or not, should have little impact on a review. You cannot score a game low because you don't like "walking sims", you should review it based on what it aims to achieve and how successful is the execution of that vision.

I don't disagree but It's impossible to escape and usually explains the various outliers in review scores.

How many xbox site gave this game high score? Seems its very short of a game with alot of mix review. Anyway not my cup of tea.

Think that last bit is key, this is absolutely not my type of game so a 6 from where I'm sat is probably right, but someone who likes these walking sims is probably over the moon with this type of title.

Even with the Mega Drive variants, those numbers don’t top Nintendos….and if we then include Nintendo variants we have to add another 5.7 m consoles which puts the Mega drive into a distant second place in a two horse race….why you are trying to discount sales in Japan is beyond me.

360 sales were not a huge gap behind ps3 if at all, given that Xbox stopped releasing sales numbers at 85.4 m while ps3 sold 87.5m.

Regardless, the question was whether Sega or Xbox was a better competitor to Sony. Sega failed at the first hurdle with Dreamcast, while Xbox is still in the race.

You are wrong again the Sega Saturn was in direct competition to the PS1, then the Dreamcast came out it was competing against the PS2. So, Sega fought for 2 gens with Sony, but its poor decisions before the Playstation was a thing left them in a not so good financial position.

So please do some research on Sega before you post as you've made it very clear you know very little about them.

The only reason Xbox is on the market (let's not say race when Phil has already declared Xbox lost) is because MS is a trillion-dollar company.

Yes, you’re right. Saturn was Segas hope against PlayStation. But it didn’t fail because of a lack of finances. It failed because it was more expensive, harder to develop for than a PS, was way worse at 3d games, suffered from a bizarre conceptual advertising campaign and just didn’t get the same support from 3rd party devs.

Sega didn’t win against Nintendo in any race and utterly failed to compete against Sony. Xbox at least went neck and neck with Sony with the 360 and has the staying power to compete.

The Saturn was at least on-par with the PS1 in terms of 3D performance. The Saturn was just harder to develop for, so third-party studios struggled to push its 3D performance. But Sega's first-party and second-party studios were able to pull off 3D performance that could match or even surpass the PS1.

Sega was neck-and-neck with Nintendo for most of the 16-bit era, both competing for the top spot. In contrast, Xbox was getting dominated by Nintendo in Gen 7... Competing with Sony means nothing when both Xbox and Sony were getting dominated by Nintendo that generation.

Gen 4 (16-bit era)

  1. SNES
  2. Sega Mega Drive
  3. PC Engine
  4. Neo Geo

Gen 7

  1. Wii
  2. PS3
  3. Xbox 360

Spot the difference yet? Mega Drive was second place and fighting for first place. Xbox 360 was third place and fighting for second place. Mega Drive was competing on a higher level than Xbox 360.

The Gen 7 comparison is a bit dis-ingenuous though, the wii and Nintendo are to be commended for breaking into a wider market but it's not really an apples to apples comparison as both the Kinect and Move offerings demonstrated. Xbox and MS have clearly kept Sony and PS more on their toes especially in Gen7 where for the majority of the time MS was the leader in the "core" gaming market.

The switch is the better hardware, but I have to be honest I had more fun with the 3ds, I've got no justification for that just purely personal experience.

So if Xbox games are coming to the PS5, what's the point of getting an Xbox console? Don't you guys think that this will just hurt MS more and their future.

Presumably to carry on playing with friends on that platform/access to an established digital library, the calculation being done by Sony and MS right now is their "invested" player bases are static regardless of what they do in terms of exclusives essentially as long as content arrives on those platforms the players will hang around.

So the question is how to maximise money from that content, hence the move away from exclusives it's more beneficial to MS as they get access to a well of players that's more than double the total xbox player base but even Sony regardless of their regressive views have to look at the numbers, if the numbers remain static which everyone is assessing as being likely then Sony is ignoring what? 20 million+ potential consumers to win a market share war it's already won whilst the competitor in that war effectively monetizes Sony's own userbase.

You may see more of a shift if the platform holders drop back compat and render digital libraries locked to legacy hardware.

Who on this forum claim it was only going to be four?

cows routinely create fake narratives and then run with the fake narratives they created..

What was the fake narrative? Pretty sure not too long ago cows were saying exactly this.

I mean, if you can't actually name anyone that said it would only be four games, it's a fake narrative..

Phil Spencer. He also said Starfield and Indiana Jones would not be ported over. Let’s see how long that lasts.

Who benefits from limiting access to those games?
