I had some fun with infinite's single player but it's still boggles my mind how badly they screwed up with the multiplayer live service aspect of it.

They had a seemingly strong base for the game and just didn't do anything with it. Hopefully they just use a engine thats easier to work with next time because I got a sense that was a big part of the problem

I haven't played the latest cyberpunk update but it would have to do a lot of heavy lifting to bridge the gap between the two games for me.

The Witcher 3 just had such a memorable world with so many great quest lines and characters. Gameplay isn't really a big strength of either one to be honest so I think cyberpunk 's definitely has the potential to be better. I wouldn't be surprised if it surpasses Witcher 3's with the latest update. Cyberpunk 's world just felt kind of dead to me and from what I've seen in the new update it doesn't really look that much different

definitely yes for competitive MP games. I struggle to have fun when I'm getting my ass handed to me. and I tend to have the most fun in MP games i'm actually good at.

singleplayer, don't care that much. as long as I'm good enough to progress through the game without having to constantly replay sections i'm satisfied.

Definitely a fan of the slower deliberate combat of From Software games, in particular the Souls series and Elden Ring.

I'll also shout out Chivalry 2 and Mordhau for having great first-person combat systems. Extremely fun once you get the hang of them and start lopping peoples heads/limbs off online

nice, thought the first one was one of the best puzzle games outside of the Portal series in the last decade.

I think this game will have slightly muted review scores, since earlier this month reviewers were gushing over the new high benchmark for RPGs, BG3.

Still, Bethesda knows how to throw around their advertising money, so I'm expecting a lot of 9s and 10s for this one.

I think a lot of people will play Starfield as a space exploration type of game more than really just an RPG. I'm not sure they're directly competing despite the superficial genre overlap

Pretty much a toss up between the Witcher 3 and RDR 2

New Vegas and The Elder Scrolls 3 morrowind would be hot on their heels

I don't think ever came across one of these "most ever" lists actually agreed with.

they aren't supposed to be agreed with, they are supposed to generate clicks (which they are very good at)

I'll also mention that Grounded and Pentiment were among my favourite games last year.

I'm not even that big on survival/crafting games, the only other ones i've liked are Subnautica and Valheim. its among the best in that genre imo.

Obsidian have been doing some of their best work in recent years imo (though i'd say New Vegas is still their best)

I still don't really get what Pentiment is about other than it looks funny to play. What was the hook for you in that game?

It has a cool art style and a very interesting story. Just a very unique game overall.

Definitely a slow burn though so you need to be down with that type of slow paced dialogue centric experience, like Disco Elysium. It's very rewarding once you get into it though.
