Do you like mystery and challenge?! Do you like to have your patience tested and tread every area carefully?! Returnal is a rogue-like, Souls like, tough as nails action game. You play in the 3rd person, you explore different biomes and you slowly level up your gear and collect items, not to be wasted, but stored, until that very second you NEED to use an item to save you from looping... one.. last.. time. Every time you die you start at the beginning, the ONLY thing that carries over are permanent upgrades, like being able to breathe underwater and Ether, an item used to gain artifacts amongst other things. Artifacts are upgrades for your playthrough, when you die, they all disappear, just like your currency and everything else. This game is so satisfying though, you will want to explore everything and collect every item around so that you can become that much stronger. The bosses are tough but they aren't insanely tough that they're impossible to beat. The biomes are dark and atmospheric. The music is the most creepy intense music I've ever heard in a video game. With the new UPDATE you can pause your progress and play other games and come back right where you left off in Returnal, a feature that was previously missing from this game. However, it is not a true save file, because once you load the data, it's gone (unless you use the cloud feature and don't auto-sync save data and constantly upload and download your files which acts as a real save file ;-) I will say though, before I discovered this, I completed 50% of the game without doing this cheat method. Even if you do "cheat" you will still dump hours into this game and it's still amazing and fun. Every time you begin a cycle, your biomes and areas are all random, you'll constantly find secrets and see things that were not there before. You constantly unlock new weapons all the way until the final biome. You increase your health and gain weapon damage up to level 30. Returnal is addicting, fun and most of all.. challenging. Go play it!
******IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT BOSSES DO NOT HAVE TO BE RE-KILLED. ALSO, ONCE YOU COMPLETED APPROXIMATELY 50% OF THE GAME, YOU BEGIN AT THE 50% MARK WHEN YOU DIE, NOT BACK AT SQUARE 1. SO DONT GIVE UP, THERE ARE BENCHMARKS IN PLACE SO THAT YOU CAN PROGRESS ******
