Evolution seems so simple...

User Rating: 6.5 | Spore PC
Spore is a game that follows evolution and it is made to be simple and easy for everyone to manipulate which is the problem of this game.

Graphics of this game are good although they seem childish they are the part of Spore's charm.

The game begins with your specie brought as a simple organism to a planet which would soon become its home world. After a short scene showing a comet crash the game starts with its first phase called "cell stage ". There you move as a simple creature and swim trough water, collect new parts and feed your creature to progress to the next stage of the evolution. This is my favorite stage because it couldn't get messed up and you are never the strongest and biggest creature in the water. The game's next phase is the "creature stage" which moves you from the water on the ground. There you collect more parts and befriend or fight other creatures. The only good thing about this stage is the creature editor where you can edit your creature with number of parts and color it for it look the way you like it. The movement of the creature is made to be impressively natural that even the three-legged creatures move naturally. Then you come to the game's next phase called "Tribal stage" which is basically a RTS in which you can socialize or attack other tribes. There is really nothing interesting in this stage except that you build buildings with food. The next phase is the "Civilization stage" in which you can build vehicles and buildings that you design using the editor. This stage is also an RPG but is poor as well and you can either choose the way of economy, religion or military there are the difference between the three ways but none of them are really interesting. Another thing that is bad about his game is that the evolution progresses too fast, in the tribal stage you still throw spears at enemies, and in the civilization you already chase them with hovering tanks. The last stage is the "Space stage" and it is better than the three that came before it. There is almost an endless space to explore, there are missions to be done, artifacts to collect and planets to be terraformed and populated. The only problem bad with this stage is when you're at war enemies attack you a lot and you always have to return to your planet where the only defense are you and the turrets, but when you attack enemies planets they have a full armada waiting to destroy you and you have only one ship per ally.
The game is different by having multiple genres in one single game. It has a lot of good features like the editor but it lacks in gameplay and not all stages are made to be fun.

Pros: Editors, Natural movement of creatures, BIG game

Cons: evolution progresses very quickly, Some stages are really badly made, Difficulty in the space stage
