Started playing Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition. The ray traced lighting is amazing....
Very impressive stuff that is all happening in real time with nothing baked.
These past couple of boss fights in GuJian 3 are hard they really force you be up and personal with the boss and make you perfectly time parries and then immediately dodge. No stopping point in the game over the past couple of boss fights to let me replenish my health items either. The current boss I'm facing is pretty hard I have to stay close to him the entire fight, I can't just hit and run. I've nearly depleted all my health items and my checkpoint has me at less than half of my health. I think I might have to lower the difficulty to get past him.
@BassMan: Sorry I just really want to share my experience with everyone. I never saw your comment about me posting too many pics. It may not look but I did try and reduce the amount of screenshots I shared this time. I got 999 screenshots of this game.
Exceptional mod. Decades of of content that amounts to multiple times the base game with many graphical and gameplay improvements. Like, 27 gig, for a game from 2001. Like installing a remaster with several expansion packs at no cost. Lovely stuff.
Why?
The experience you are having now is going to take a sharp 180. I am referring to gameplay.
Thanks for the heads-up! I tend to take my time and complete as much as I can or feel like it before moving on in a game.
Any specific reason why? Did you like RE4? Or 7?
It is the gameplay. Too scripted and cutscene heavy. Overall interactivity is constrained because of this focus. I barely played RE4 and I felt the same abut RE7.
Pretty allergic to that as well. It's the main reason why I didn't play RE7. Not sure why I enjoy RE8 so much. Guess it's just easier for me to forgive it for some games.
@kazumakiryu21: @xantufrog: As a Mass Effect fan, I really love the changes in ME1, its hardly a remaster, this is a full remake if you ask me. Bioware really changes the way ME1 plays and matching it to ME2 gameplay cause the original ME1 is so outdated, it's hardly playable today's standard. But yes, I'm so loving this Legendary Edition.

Nice. The health bar seems like ME 3 in ME 1

It's truly beautiful to play.
Just gonna finish the DLCs before I move on to other games. Might pick up Mass Effect LE 'cause @davillain-'s screenies kinda made me intrigued.

I tried to go back and play Mass Effect 1 last year and couldn't do it. Already put 10 hours into this remaster and I'm loving it. The shooting feels good and the Mako sections are actually not a chore now.
The most dated part of the game now is the AI. My teammates will sometimes pop out of cover and stand still taking damage until they die. And the enemy AI too often either range from an all out ambush of me and force me to run and gun, or they stand still like bots and let me mow them down.
All in all Bioware did a good job on it.
Went to Microcenter today to see if they had any RTX 3080s. They were sold out on RTX cards but they had an Alienware M15 R3 with an RTX 2070 Super open box so I said screw it why not and bought it. I think I'll sit out the ampere generation if this laptop satisfies my craving for ray tracing. I downloaded Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition and played it for about an hour. Even though its 1080p it still looks beautiful to me since 1080p on a 15.6" screen is perfectly fine. Will hook it up to my samsung QLED and play in 1440p later.
Edit: Finally got past the archdemon boss in GuJian 3 I went to an older save to stock up on healing items.
Some fairly intense missions.
Basically if you look at a Tank, you're dead. Not like Call Of Duty where you hide behind a wall and wait for the strawberry jam to disappear, and when you lose a man, you lose skill points essentially.
Unlike R6 can cheese and quick-save, but think that's detrimental to what makes these type of games engaging. The fact everything can go to shit in the blink of an eye. The missions are relatively short, 20 min, so restarting isn't a big deal, usually incrementally learn stuff each run.
@uninspiredcup: What is that game? I don't think I've played it but man the graphics alone take me back.
