Expect for this not to be what anybody expects, despite all the rumors. It's Konami, expect to be walking away from the announcement like "has the whole world gone mad!" So, what could Konami say to do that?

My shot in the dark, the director and studio behind the vaporware "Abandoned" managed to finagle the Silent Hill reboot out from the other potential studios like Blooper and that other one I don't remember but then in comes this guy who has nothing to show but a lot of big talk, shows Konami execs some trailer of Abandoned, shows off gazillion of "OMG most anticipated game on PS5" Tweets, offers to reboot series for less than others and they secure the contract. Don't know that to be the case but I expect to be disappointed. Oh, also two new SH pachinko machines. And a chance to order some limited edition SH figurines for hundreds of dollars.

I hope to be wrong though, oh so bad I hope to be wrong.

It’s Konami so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Certainly not holding my breath. 😅

A traditional SH game that everyone wants? Probably not.

The game is only relevant if it is made by Kojima San.

Since there seems to be a bit of pessimism about it, I'll venture to be optimistic.

I believe there may be a good reason why Konami announced ”SILENTHILL Transmission” in the same month as Capcom's ”Resident Evil Showcase October 2022” where they plan to introduce more details about the RE4 remake.

In other words, it could be because Konami is seriously preparing a big-budget reboot of Silent Hill with the intention of challenging the RE4 remake, just like in the good old days when the RE and Silent Hill series were still rivals.

Back in the summer, Capcom made headlines by bumping the DD2 announcement to Square's FFVII Rebirth, and now I expect Konami is trying to do the same to Capcom, haha.

Look at their announcement being Silent Hill keychains that you can order directly from their site for $19.99 and a few SH related NFT's.🤭

This is Konami in 2022 for you.

Apparently the sony conference has either been cancelled or delayed, or they are choosing not to show certain games (silent hill/spiderman2 and a few more) due to sony believing that the showcase will add weight to microsofts argument concerning the activision/blizz deal.

Though showing any kind of COD PS exclusive promotion video would also be something they'd like to omit too, though curious if this would be in any sort of breach of contract with Activision-Blizzard as in ways they get to tie their branding to advertising, but don't they have an obligation to promote it? Maybe that eventuality wasn't even considered in drafting contracts. In ways too Sony benefits from having greater COD sales on their consoles and they're not even trying, they could be hurting their royalties come this upcoming game at such a crucial season when it is released.

I am gonna take a shot and say it's a remastered version of Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 4 in a Silent Hill Collection. I don't think Konami would do a new Silent Hill game least since Team Silent ain't around.

I just booted up Death Stranding again (PS5 remaster). God this game is amazing. I lost my save so I have to start from scratch which is annoying as **** since I had like 95 hours on PS4.

the horror elements are really good. Kojima would make an amazing Silent Hill.

I wish the BTs actually killed you instead of sending you to that shitty oil limbo. it just turned the encounters into a bore. but boy are they intense.

a few tweaks to the combat and its mechanics and Death Stranding would be in the GOAT conversation imo.

Yea, if the open world had MGS 5 type elements, that would’ve been amazing. And if it had MGS 1 boss fights, that would be incredible 🤩

@regnaston: I played Silent Hill 2 for the first time this year and loved it. Really excited to see their adaption of it for the remake. Not sure how much I trust Bloober though.
