The Game Awards Show - Official Thread! Pre-Show starts 630PM ET.

Woot, we are down to just a matter of hours until the The Game Awards start at 7pm US Eastern Time. For those that care, there is also a pre-show at 6:30pm, which I will be watching since Persona 5 singer Lyn Inaizumi will perform! Well anyway, enough weeaboo talk.

I have never watched it. Don't have time this year either. GotY is either Animal Crossing or GoT. I think Animal Crossing had a larger impact due to the pandemic. It was impossible to find a Switch when that game released. GoT is a game I would rather play though.

I am summoning Elden Ring gameplay. Its time.

I always enjoy watching this show and this year is no different. Really looking forward to it. I want to see some of the following:

- Dragon Age 4

- Forza Horizon 5

- Elden Ring

- next character addition to Smash Bros. Ultimate

- Bayonetta 3

- Metroid Prime 4

- Breath of the Wild 2

- Perfect Dark

Some are long shots but I’m still hopeful for them along with any other surprises.

I don't care what people vote in as winners of any categories. I also have little hope in anything worth my time being announced either. I expect half to be competitive multiplayer focused... probably more battle-royale trash. The other half, I expect to see half assed indy trash. The one AAA title that'll be shown is the next gen upgrade to GTA V and it'll be... trash.

Those are my predictions. I sincerely hope I'm wrong.

Forgot about Dragon Age 4 being shown so there's that at least. Still no interest in that series though.

I anticipate a good helping of announcements tonight, but I hope the show focuses more on the celebration of the games this year than how they did it last year.

Last year's show was pretty bad because it felt more like a commercial reel than an actual award ceremony. It was most offensive how they rushed through most of the winner categories and not even letting the winners give their acceptance.

Hope they learned from last year.

My issue with this year's VGA is the fact it starts 6:30pm, not 8:00pm as they always do! I won't have time to watch this event because of the time different. I'll just watch the after show tomorrow.

As for Perfect Dark. Holy crap that got me excited. Seeing MS actually pay attention to the deep well of IP they've cultivated and largely ignored is incredibly encouraging. If this game ends up being good, there will very likely be a Series X sitting next to my PS5. More of this MS. Dear God more of this.

2014 was kind of a crappy year for video games.

Give it some credit, the music stuff is usually pretty cringe, but it's kinda been the best part of the show?

Holy crap. Wasn't gonna comment, since I'm still kinda half-asleep right now.

But as a Warframe player who still fires up a bot match in Unreal Tournament 2004 every now and then, I'm slightly miffed at that those EGS exclusive skins. Especially the Stahlta Shock Rifle skin. The Stahlta's one of my favourite weapons, but it's not exactly the best looking. That would have gone really well with my Nova Deluxe.

Another reason for me to resent the EGS.
