@vouldrax: I thought about mentioning the brackets in the review after I did research on them when I played this game, but ultimately stat increments are still dependent on seeded RNG rolls. I know this; I have jiggered the level-ups to give my dudes good increments.
The brackets are just so much useless complexity when they are still dependent on RNG rolls.
Also, thieves cannot improve if they don't gain levels. They can only gain levels if they fight. Did you think that I simply toss them at enemies? I don't - I just feed them weakened enemies to keep them out of harm's way. So please, stop fucking harping on thieves.
Really, good grief, you are bringing up opinionated responses like "I think it's a good this-and-that shit". I have seen so many remarks like these, and I am tired of them.
Ah, **** this. I am done. I never liked arguing with fucking fanboys like you on GameSpot, and I quit doing that years ago.
You can make another shitty long post with more bullshit biased in favour of this game - I am not going to respond to it.
@vouldrax: I started with the later games? **** you, dude - I haven't even played them.
I learned about Fire Emblem from the earlier games - starting from the Famicom one. I know how the mechanics of the Kaga games have developed, so I am going to skip over your wordy, poorly punctuated drivel.
Also, I am nitpicky - because critical people are supposed to be so. You can try to gloss over how much fickle luck is a factor in this game, but I have played games that are far more complex and difficult than this one and they don't need so many fucking RNGs to pose a "challenge".
Reviews of previous Supergiant Games titles, especially Bastion, came with notifications that Greg Kasavin was a former editor-in-chief of GameSpot.
There is nothing of the sort this time.
I suppose it's been long enough (more than 10 years since he left) that there can be the excuse of disassociation now? Last time I checked, next to none on GameSpot's staff personally worked with Kasavin before - much less the freelancers.
Yeah, I can't stand most of the characters too. I switched to Japanese voice-overs (I can listen to some of them), just to see how far removed the English localization is.
