All genres and series start niche. They stop being niche once they become popular.

The Souls series is arguably one of the best modern day examples. Historically, even first-person shooters were once upon a time "niche".

Also double AA batteries in 2017? That stuff died out in 2010 with the iphone even my razor is rechargeable who the hell is in charge of this crap?

All batteries degrade over time. With replaceable batteries you can just replace them.

I have a premium pair of headphones that use AAA batteries. It's so much more practicable than a rechargeable built-in battery. When travelling I can just grab a pack of AAA batteries almost anywhere and then the headset would last weeks.

Pretty frequently, when I'm trying out games. I use it essentially like a free demo.

Looks like it's going in the Witcher direction of open-world - an impactful main plot with side activities that don't take over 80% of the game like Ubisoft sandboxes.

If this is executed and polished well, it can potentially be really great!

If I can still only stream them after I buy them, what's the point? I already stream them on Crunchyroll, which is bloody cheap.

Feels a bit like a misopportunity. If in exchange for purchasing an anime series, I get to download blu-ray quality episodes, I wouldn't mind building up a digital collection.

If it's 9/10 due to unfair boss fights, then it's a 10/10 for me. Shin Megumi Tensei bosses have always been... challenging. It's good to see Persona series picking up some of that, which traditionally has been a complaint from SMT fans.

Actually, +1 to 11/10 due to my inner weeb.

Who the hell is Tencent? I'm going to assume mobile phone games.

It's a Chinese mega-conglomerate that owns Chinese versions of Facebook, etc. It also has a substantial presence in all online gaming in/from China, and owns Riot.

It's not a PC exclusive company, since mobile is a big part of the company as well.

Persona 5 by far. It doesn't really have a lot of competition at this point. I have my collector's edition on international freight. Hopefully it arrives just as I finish up Nier Automata.

This really has been a very good year. Torment, Nioh, Nier Automata, Persona 5. Such heavy hitters so early in the year. Then we'll have Shadow of War, Prey, new South Park, State of Decay 2, Divinity OS 2 later down the road.

Finished Nioh 100% beyond platinum after 200 hours. Maxed out gear and all collectibles. GG.

Really didn't expect it to have such great bang for buck.
