And no... There is nothing Marvel about Last of Us 1-2 , Metal Gear Solid 1-4, God of War, Red Dead 2, Bloodborne, BG3, or Elden Ring.

The games I mentioned are the Godfather, Shawshank Redemption, Interstellar, Goodfellas, Dark Knight, Good Bad and Ugly of videogames.

The Endgame / Marvel equivalent of videogames are: Fortnite, COD, FIFA, Ass Creed, Far Cry.

No I don't think Marvel movies are a masterpiece. And no, I don't enjoy any of those games except COD cause that's all my non-gamer friends will play (that and FIFA but I refuse FIFA).

@kathaariancode: Pentiment isn't even remotely close to being as good as TLOU, or TLOU2. or Red Dead 2. Or any Metal Gear. or BG3. or any Bioware or any Bioshock. Using the word "undoubtably" for a story that is dogshit next to the king of story telling that is The Last of Us.

Pentiment rightfully wasn't even nominated for best narrative, so you can add God of War Ragnarök (the game that undoubtably had the best narrative in 2022), the original God of War and many other games to that list as well.

The rebuttal is always the same... apparently we're pedos that want Ellie to be hot or sexualised which couldn't be any further from the truth.

We want a videogame Ellie that's a girl, not a literal person that doesn't even identify as a female (I believe it is a they/them thing).

I've always wished for a son, but playing The Last of Us some 11 years ago made me realise having a daughter wouldn't be the end of the world after all.

Now if my daughter ended up as Ellie from the TV show she'd get tossed off a cliff at birth.

People in this thread struggle to conceptualise why for sake of comparison it can be interesting to look growth by excluding a product line from the equation. This stuff happens all the time.

I used to read similar stories in financial newspapers all the time:

"If you exclude Taycan from the Porsche line up, car sales have down 3%". Doesn't matter than Taycans make up 40% of Porsche's sales, its interesting to learn if it wasn't for the introduction of their first electric vehicle, the company would be performing worse than the year before.

Same with Lambo and the Urus and many other businesses.

I bought my 4090 just over a year ago and would be pretty upset if only 9-10 months later it wouldn't be the fastest GPU in the world anymore.

Although I don't have much reason to upgrade, I am planning on swapping the 4090 for a 5090 to keep the title up for another 2 years.

I just hope I get a decent amount of cash for the 4090 lol.
