Funny how SolidGame_Basic creates threads within seconds of any negative news regarding the Xbox brand and is nowhere to be seen in positive Xbox threads 🤔

Game Director is white dude. It's a Mikami studio, definitely built a game around a director's vision n shit.
Never try to ruin my totally awesome takes!!
Probably explains why the narrative is so heavy-handed. Can't recall the last Japanese action game with this many cutscenes and dialogue. This seems to be the western's dev spin on it but I could be wrong. I thought I would get something where the story is just a formality lol.
nah, even the banger action games got that problem. DMC n Bayonetta have lots of cutscenes just introducing enemy types, it's just a quicker skip in those games. Where as this has some unskippable shit. The animation style is definitely more in the vein of a Japanese action game. More about key poses. n shit.
I gotta say though, this game suffers the same issues Forspoken got shat on for when it comes to the writing.
It's definitely corny, but the reason it's not getting shit is pretty obvious. They are tonally presented as different games. This game very deliberately from tone, presentation, humor, and character are more like a 2000s Cartoon Network ass show/Saturday Morning Cartoon. So it doesn't feel as out of place or insincere.
Forspoken is more like a fantasy blockbuster thing actually trying to play it a bit more straight, and the constant quipping comes off more grating because it reads like they have no faith in the audience to just like the setting n character they made.
It's the difference between why someone will find The Weekenders endearing, but then think a MCU movie has a mid ass script. Not saying you can't think they are both corny, you certainly can. But it's a more egregious problem for Forspoken than here.
Sigh another remake that barely does anything new...
This is patently not true. There are some fundamental differences to the core combat of Dead Space in the remake. Don't think its gonna effect most people, as generally people play more conservatively. But for the people that got better at that game, the way the stuns work now, and some of the changes to the weapons and additional tools to them is a significant difference.
Plus it plays with your expectation of the original, and will move its jump scares earlier, or a bit later just to throw you off.
