@deadpeasant I've never been a huge fan of Gran Turismo personally, but I appreciate it has its fans. And Forza might be a newcomer, but I think it's valid to rank it alongside the likes of Gran Turismo, if not higher--it's a great game.
@Polybren It's indeed true that the big devs and publishers don't need E3 anymore. But you touched on a point here: "The biggest difference between E3 2002 and E3 2012 for these developers is that they are bigger outfits and they now have the leverage to call their own shots. They don't need the spectacle of E3 to make their game announcements seem like a big deal."
Is it not perhaps true, then, that E3 is still relevant for those companies that are yet to be the next Valve or Bungie? A way for them to gather attention for games that perhaps would be ignored just merely sent out in a press release? And the way things are at the moment, we could use some fresh blood.
Of course, it's late and it could just be the beer talking.
@s_h_a_d_o @markypants Totally agree we need to do more, hence why we're taking a weekly look at Kickstarter and The App Store. Danny is delving into the more esoteric world of indie games with Secret Code too.
@Neil_Clancy I had a list of about 25 that I had to cull down, otherwise it would have been a very long video. However, I didn't have that one. Good shout!
