God of War DRM Free

God of War has officially landed on the PC digital storefront GOG, and the company is celebrating by slashing its price to just $25 (down from $50). That's one of the best deals we've seen for the PC version of God of War, which previously was only available through Steam. God of War is a fantastic game that's worth full price of admission, but at $25 it's a steal. You have plenty of time to check out the deal, as it doesn't expire until March 29.

Not only free from hardware locked systems like consoles but free from DRM as a whole.😮

That's nice it's on GoG but even though I always go to GoG if the game is not on GoG first but on Steam, this does nothing for me. Owned God of War 2018 on Steam and I have no desire to buy it over at GoG. Same for Zero Dawn.

Never playing that piece of shit again. Port the original trilogy or do a reboot with a new protagonist and gameplay that respect the original concept.

I have huge backlog to work through but will definitely buy it on Steam and beat it a 4th time.

And Litchie we have been over this. MC scores the games I like highly... not the other way around. Its not my fault I'm always right. I am the System Warrior with highest score prediction accuracy.

There are multiple cases where MC is highly inaccurate though - just look at any Zelda or Mario game.

If youre talking about SBI, one of the co founders literally gave a statement during GDC in 2019 where she reffered to gamers as "whiney babies", claims that only woke writers can write innovative stories and outlined her methods for forcing bosses of gaming studios to alter, censor and "diversify" their games by "terrifying" them (threaten them with the cancel culture mob) into doing it.

She is correct about the "whiney babies". How many times have folks like yourself without prompt whine about some minority, gay, female or whatever element in a game that isn't specifically geared towards you?

Consulting firms LITERALLY cannot force anything on a company. Companies reach out to these consulting firms, not the other way around. The basics.

Iv never whined about a minority, gay or female being in a game. Only expressed my dislike for games that have OTT WOKE and LGBT in them. Oh and i didnt realise i needed to be prompted to make a comment.

The SBI thing is not a conspiracy theory, a lot of the narative came from their own mouths, social media posts and their own websites, so critically thinking yourself into telling people that it is just makes you look like a lieing woke defender.

After a quick google search: Passionfruit have an article about it being a conspiracy theory (with it in a header too if you wanted it to be that tiny bit more specific), The Giardian do too, Woke writer Byrant Francis wrote an article on gamedeveloper.com about it, these are all before i got half way down the first page of google search results. I know this type of material is for you, so enjoy it.

Interesting! I loved the first GOW game!

The animations and modeling and textures in the game are incredible. As is the voice acting and story. Gameplay as well.

That is cool. GOG is by far the best store to purchase games from because you can download the installer and all the updates and store them from now until the end of time.

I don't mean this confrontationally, but I've never understood some of the phrases people associate with gaming. "work through", "Beat it".

I look at gaming differently. I just play whatever feels right and don't always think about completing it.

Are you choosing the steam version for Steam Deck or something? How come not the GoG version out of curiosity?

@HalcyonScarlet: Some people take pride in completing games. It is a rollover behavior from the teenage or younger years.

When I complete games, I'm a completionist about it, but my mentality is that I'm more focused on the moment and I don't particularly want the experience to end so I'm not focusing solely on the task of completing a game.

If I'm honest, because of that I don't complete a lot of games.
