Might pick this up when it's 75% off 3-4 years from now.
Like the setting.
I'm getting it because I really like AC.
Even if it's shitty ass clone giving it a free pass.

It has some more going on but AC is literally a trip to the past where you meet some interesting people that lived back then.
I loved AC Mirage as it's a more entertaining, more forgiving way of reading a history book.

I guess you make a valid point. For kids or randos whatever it can get them into history.
About the only thing will compliment of the franchise, they are essentially beautiful environments with shallow as a puddle gameplay.
For all complaints about Ubisoft Odyssey is still one of the visually best looking games played.

It's like a bag of potato chips, eat the whole bag at once and you'll get tired by eating the same flavor by the end.
That is why I take my time with RPGs, I tend to spread them out so the taste stays fresh.
Ghost of Tsushima is another "Assassins Creed, but done right", you'll have a chance to play it on PC soon.
And take a bath like Jin.
I played Rise of Ronin for a little over 6 hours over the weekend. It is one of the most 7/10 games ever.
The combat is really good, it carries the game for me. But the world and graphics feel dated, like the game should have released 10 years ago.
It's a slow start, I almost gave up after the first 2 hours because it was so bleh, but once it opens up and you're free to do what you want to do more the game picks up.
I also suggest doing Japanese audio with English subs. The English VO is really bad, do yourself a favor and stick with Japanese.
I do like it, but it makes you appreciate titles like GoT
