@toaster2534: You can only control the opponent as much as they let you, and unless you're smurfing you end up getting matched with people of the same skill level anyway. There's nothing wrong with a shakeup there. Things get changed up in Fortnite all the time. Cowcatchers and other items that just demolish builds instantly have been in the game before. If you're too reliant on building that can become your Achilles' heel.
For people who only want to focus on building there are a lot of creative PvP modes that support that anyway.
@naryanrobinson: If you're a power user then I imagine you don't want to move your hand around too much, like to the mouse or to the keypad, because that is wasted time when you could be pressing keys. I imagine you generally want your hands to stay in the position where you can reach as many keys as possible, and just use the number row above the letter keys. Anyway at least that is my preference.
It's true those could trigger scripts and macros, but so can key combinations. I guess you're right that some people could prefer the numpad for that.
@m4a5: If it ever gets new management maybe it will. Maybe some bean counters will think "If the games remain available then they won't be bought again, so let's close the account"
Maybe it won't, and I hope you're right.
There is also the idea that these policies are not law, it is just some policy a company decided. If the policy contradicts the law, or if the law allows for certain rights, then that could supersede the policy. We would have to look at what the law allows for and what people are entitled to. That could be new legal territory and take a while to resolve.
Hopefully our politicians will be proactive on this front and pass policy to enshrine some consumer agency on access to digital purchases.
