@vgmkyle: Publishers generally send out early review codes for the platform(s) they want a game reviewed on. Reviewing multiplatform games on other systems means buying the game after release and writing a late review that's practically identical nine times out of ten.
What would be nice is a return of the game stat block on reviews that listed developer, publisher, release date and platforms.
I get review codes and for multiple systems. For Game Spot (and many other conglomerates that are owned by stingy people) there is a level of commitment that they do not meet any longer and it's too bad.
Go look at the reviews for Splinter Cell Pandora tomorrow.
@hosedandhappy: UH what do you mean they've never done that. I've been here since 2004 (somehow like you); please direct yourself to the Gamecube/PS2/XBOX era and don't speak unless you know what you're talking about to begin with.
XBOX games typically received higher scores for third party games due to better graphics.
This review temporarily had me believing that this was only on the Switch. God, do I miss the days when Gamespot wasn't lazy and reviewed every platform, and nearly every game for every system.
(will the truth be deleted as quickly as unions were?)
