Shame it isn't made by Nintendo, it would've got an 11/10.

Nintendo's already planning to clone this game with Mario in it, complete with Bowser as the main antagonist. It will be the first 120 score on MC.

Only reason why this game is getting 10/10 ratings is because it got Mesome's Nintendo quality seal of approval. Let that sink in Hardwenzen, your game is nothing and would have gotten 8/10 ratings if it didn't get that Nintendo touch.

Wow, it looks like FromSoft really delivered on what they've promised. Congrats to them. I'm currently playing HFW, which is a fantastic game, but I need to put it down for a while to play ER from day one.

BUY THIS GAME. SUPPORT A DEV THAT STILL DEVELOPS THEIR GAMES LIKE EVERYONE USED TO IN THE 90'S AND 2000'S. Let EA/Activision and other bitches know that a game can still be very successful without being overloaded with mtx.

Heard there are some issues on PC, all while being locked at a measly 60 fps and no ultrawide. I think I'm fine waiting a few weeks for modders to fix all of that. My backlog is huge not even an issue.

I want their next entry to be sci fi. Been asking this for a very long time, and i think that after the masterpiece that is Elden Ring, they should absolutely focus on something else than phantasy rpg. People will spend a lot of time playing ER, and if their next game is yet another phantasy game with dragons and such, the fatigue might begin to set in, which i don't want to see because their formula would work in so many different settings. Imagine an underwater base/city similar to Bioshock but bigger, with more secrets/exploration, in third person, being an actual rpg and with the combat system of what fromsoft is know for. Guaranteed banger😱😱😱

I think I will pass for now, PC version having some issues.

When it gets fixed however, count me in.

Oh most assuredly, if Fromsoft ever got into sci fi and did that. But people will eat up Starfield more (I assume) because Bethesda is a juggernaut, even though they dropped the stinker that was Fallout 76 and they won't change their old-ass engine, and they have gotten into microtransactions....Gamers either don't have good memories or there are just too many new and young gamers and not enough sensible older gamers. Which makes me upset because Bethesda used to be great. I loved Oblivion and Skyrim. Fallout 3 was great. 4 was ok and now they are just a mediocre company riding the tides of their old success. They need a good kick in the pants.

And miss out on the launch period of a new new FROM game? Heck naw! FROM games are really the only AAA games I buy at launch and I will continue to do so until I get burned. FROM earned that. Or rather, pretty much everyone else burned me 🤣

f*ckin hell reviewers are absolutely gushing over it, it's hard not to get swept up in the excitement, and its multiplatform so everyone on system wars can be part of the love-in almost everyone

but yeah im not the biggest FROM fan, I always get them when they are on sale, what i did with DS3. Got the full game with all dlc like 1.5 year after launch.

never did beat that game, got like half way and just lost interest, Im actually not a big fan of the die, rinse repeat formula in these FROM games, learning enemy patterns and such, but i love the art style, im a sucker for badass looking bosses. But tbh prefer faster hack n slash action of DmC NG type games.

Only FROM games I ever beat was DS 1 & 2. never beat bloodbourne, sekiro, DS3. I just get tired of the gameplay loop, lots of other games on the backlog

Is this game only for the Souls niche crowd? Or is it more mainstream? It seems interesting but I'm not interested in playing another Soulslike game.

I am going to buy both like you said. Demon's Souls is on sale right now and was my favorite game of the PS3 generation.

Reviews are saying that while it is a quintessential example of the subgenre, it's far more accessible than any other Soulslikes. Because the game has far, far more options than normal, you're never content gated by a particularly hard encounter, you have many options to try other bosses, explore unseen content, find various useful items and powers, etc. Still, if the previous Souls niche of paced and methodical combat or stiff challenge were something you just hate for whatever reason, it doesn't seem like Elden Ring is dramatically overhauling that formula.

@davillain: yes, this might be the first game to challenge botw. So I know the sheep aren't happy about that. Still on MC there's only 45 reviews up. It needs to get to 110 and stay at 97 or above in order to challenge botw. If it drops even one point, then @mesome713 and myself will be calling it a flop

I'm pretty sure dark souls 2 and 3 had a season pass at launch for it's dlc. Elden Ring doesn't so who knows if it'll get dlc or not

This game will be remembered as the better BOTW. WHat's done in ER, cannot be done on potato hardware. No wonder the word of BOTW is as empty as open world titles released in early 2000.

@moistcarrot: partly it's Tamworth Hussain. He by himself is responsible for 4 games rated 10. Both ff7 remake games, deathloop and now elden ring.

Tamoor Hussein and Chris Hayner. Both of these guys caught my eye for their reviews and for the same reason. Though if I'm being honest, Chris hayner is another level above even Mr.hussein. At least tamoor has some credibility, but Chris hayner gave mortal kombat movie a 9, bashed Kong vs godzilla for lack of character development, gave justice league directors cut a 3/10.

Looks like that 2% ownership that Sony has in From Software paid off.

I got a 3080 and 32GBs of ram ready to tackle this... and then I heard people with the same specs were getting hangs and stutters. Alana Pierce says she's having issues. I realllly hope this day one patch does a lot.

BF2042 runs worse on the X. Cp2077 runs worse (as regnaston learned the hard way). Elden Ring runs worse.

Is it time to admit that those 12tflops are simply not as high end as the 10.2tflops inside a ps5? They used budget tflops inside an Xbox, and powerful Made In Japan tflops inside the PS5. Think about it.
