Elden Ring, the next big Hype game that System Wars seems to can't stop hyping about! 10/10 GS!!!

My expection was 94, which is already incredibly high. A month ago, barely anyone in here was even predicting this game scoring over a 90, while i've been saying 94 for a long time. And if you look at older threads predicting gs score, i don't even think i saw anyone expecting a 10, but after reading Miyasaki's interview, i knew that shit is a 10/10 in here. My expections were surpassed, so i don't know where you're coming from with your confidence. As SolidGame_basic knows, this is as confident as i've ever been when predicting a bold ass 10/10 on GS.

Double standards is a real thing.

My only concern with this, is how open it sounds. even in the DS games I tended to look up the order in which I should visit places since I didn't enjoy the process of bashing my head against different walls to see what enemies I could actually deal with at my level.

and it sounds like ER doubles down on that style of gameplay. hopefully I can get past that

Its a game to be lost in. One that you can play for months and still not being done with it.

And how does he do a "review" of a game in a little over a minute and a half, without talking about anything about the game?

He is not "reviewing" anything. He hates on what's popular to get views. The higher the praise a certain game gets, the more impactful his hate videos are. Easy views on his channel.

Don't play this game telling yourself that you must beat it or reach a certain area or boss. Play as if you were still a kid experiencing the one game your dad gave ya on Christmas.

@SolidGame_basic: If Fromsoft ever made a space game of course it would be vastly superior to Starfield.

Starfield dev's have never made decent combat in their entire career.

FromSoft are literally the gameplay kings. And lore kings.

since 2001 those have been MGS4, TLOU, MGS5, Zelda:BOTW and TLOU2 and now Elden Ring.

six 10s in 22 years sounds about right.

I'll be picking this up on PC within the next month or so; depending on how the game runs and if it'll support ultrawide

Happy for those who enjoy these types of game, unfortunately they’re not for me. I’ve tried to get into every FROMSOFT title since Demon’s, to no avail.

Maybe I’ll eventually pick this up on a sale, but at this point I’m using my cash for GT7.

You always drag BotW into the discussion .. but really I don't care a lot because I'm more of a fan than a fanboy to any company .. so to hell with Nintendo at the end of the day if they do not offer the games or experiences I want 😊

honest and objective spoiler free review from fightin cowboy, who's the only souls streamer type guy i'll watch. quality build sounds like it's the way to go. critical of mage / spell builds, too imbalanced / underpowered. says much more organic exploration than hfw but the open world often doesn't play all that well with the traditional vague and opaque quest style of previous souls games which they carry through. and very critical of pc performance. but miyazaki's best game yet

@Macutchi: i love watching his streams before. Him and zeusherestoast are the only streamers i enjoy watching when it comes to gitgud games.

Neither console PS5 or XSX still hits 60fps.

PS5 is still higher frame rate but neither console is "ideal" (their words). There are workarounds for the frame rate

XSX - VRR & a compatible display means you do not see frame rate issues

PS5 - Use the PS4 version but the graphics take a severe hit

Fromsoft will make a lot of money with this one. Hire people that know the technical side of things. When the game looks like this, and has fps drops, that's just not okay.

lol pfft, they been making money on all their previous games that were done on modest budgets. If it sells looking n performing like cheeks, they aren't gonna get better at it. Shitty framerate like part of the ethos of their franchise at this point.

Yea, but they've even admitted to have some pressure after Demon's remake came out looking and running as well as it did, so you never know for their next entry. Probably wishful thinking but ffs its about time they at least abandon their old ass engine.

Despite the excellent reviews it has been getting, I’ll give it a month or two before people start bashing the game that it’s not worthy of its 10 score and it’s overrated 😂

They should have admitted to a lot of shit prior to that, don't mean they suddenly gonna get better. Expanding n hiring more people costs money, and their business model is selling a suped up AA game. Barring them just outright replacing their programmers with better programmers, they aint suddenly gonna git gud.

The engine also probably isn't the root cause of the problem, but engine speak is another convo entirely.
