[QUOTE="JohnF111"]Wow Sony made a good profit, $236mill to 770mill... That's a good deal.dream431ca

Sony is doing poorly, they have ot sell their assets (office building for example) instead of buying assets which Microsoft, Apple, and Samsung are currently doing, purchasing new buildings and plants and not selling any of their current ones.

Every company needs to sell assets sometimes. Microsoft will need to start selling since they are losing money left and right, mostly due to their Windows 8 and Surface tablet failure.

At the moment, Sony sold its Japanese and American headquarter buildings, which is a major blow to the company and shows how poorly the company is currently performing internally. Sony isn't what it used to be, it can't compete with the likes of Samsung or Apple in the electronic industry and for its software business, doesn't stand a chance with Microsoft. Maybe the high yen is to blame?

Lol, blaming consoles because developers don't want to make PC exclusives, so sad.

Jankarcop

PC has more exclusives than all 4 consoles this gen..

PC does have more exclusives but too bad 90% of these exclusives are just plain bad and are low budget titles without cinemic experience majority of consoles AA - AAA exclusive are known for.

I think they should cut the list down to one game, and that game will be Halo 4. Halo 4 has the epic story, best graphics to date, movie like soundtrack and most important innovative gameplay.

From the Article (basically the PC is dying from tablets and powerful smartphones...)

1. The iPad eats the consumer PC market.

This is happening right now. In the third quarter of 2012, PC sales were down 8 percent on a year-over-year basis worldwide. In the U.S., sales were down 14 percent. A big chunk of the decline can be attributed to the rise of the iPad. Apple sold 14 million iPads last quarter, which is more than the top PC maker, Lenovo, which shipped 13.7 million PCs. Throw in Apple's 4.9 million Macs, and it's the top computer maker by a mile.

As the personal computer market goes ...

2. Employees gradually switch away from using Windows PCs for work.

This trend has not played out that dramatically in 2012. However, British bank Barclays bought 8,500 iPads at employees' insistence this year.

And a recent survey showed that the iPhone has overtaken RIM as the smartphone of choice for enterprises. As more people get comfortable with Apple's mobile products at work, Microsoft will have to worry about them converting their Windows-based computers to Macs at work, too.

Microsoft has a plan to combat this but ...

3. Windows 8 fails to stop the iPad.

Gulp. It's still early, but every most data points say Windows 8 is not going to make a dent in the iPad.

-- NPD says Windows tablet sales were "nonexistent" between 10/21 and 11/17.
-- It also says Windows sales were down 21 percent over that period on a year-over-year basis.
-- Piper analyst Gene Munster was in a Microsoft store for two hours on Black Friday and saw zero Surface sales.
-- Microsoft reportedly cut its Surface order in half.
-- Ballmer said Surface sales were "modest."

Meanwhile, we can't think of any analyst who has cut his or her iPad estimate for the quarter based on Surface sales. In Microsoft's defense, it says it sold 40 million licenses, which it says is out pacing Windows 7. There's a chance analysts are wrong.

Can Sony even afford to make a decent powered console for next generation? Looks like Microsoft has the funds to produce a powerful console while Sony is near bankruptcy...

The Xbox 360 has a stronger GPU (graphic processing unit) than the PS3 so its no surprise that the Xbox 360 can pump out better texture and frame-rates than the PS3.

The Xbox 360 is the top selling console for over 22 months straight in North America and in terms of world wide sales, its in 2nd place, far ahead of the PlayStation 3. I think the Xbox 360 is doing quite well from a company that "have no gaming experience."Now using the logic if Microsoft gained "gaming experience" from this generation would they be in first place next generation? Since without it, Microsoft easily secured 2nd place.

I honestly see the phones replacement PC in the new future. There are phones out there with 1.7ghz quad processor, which are fast enough to match 80% of PCs out there even without the huge dinosaur PC tower. Traditional desktop will be extinct as phones become more powerful, many are equipped with sophicated word processing and other office programs as well as thousands of other software.
