n00b question but, what's a schmup?m1k3m
It's short for 'shoot 'em up' and usually involves flying a lone ship against hundreds of enemies, dodging thousands of bullets. The VC has been getting a lot of decent ones, but I'm looking for something portable.
Here's a youtube video of one in action. Some are in 2D, others are in 3D, I don't really care as long as the gameplay's solid.
Are there any good shmups on the DS, import or otherwise? I prefer a traditional vertical shooter like Raiden, Ikaruga or Super Star Soldier. I'm not a big fan of Nanostray and Geometry Wars so they're out. Danny Phantom is okay, but I'm not a fan of touch screen controls for shmups. Any recommendations? I tried google, but it didn't help much.

I just had to lol at that.
There's one thing I fear from this: Thisstory spread everywhereon a Thursday night right before a work/school day. People who know about this are an extremely small minority. Think of the internet explosion when people get home from whatever they're doing for the weekend and find all this out.Food_Nipple
Just got home from work and saw this story and dude, it blows. Jeff had a lot of character. It's disgusting to see him let go over a matter like this.
I didn't like SF on the DS too much. The controls didn't fit the game very well. Tilting the remote to lean the craft side to side sounds pretty nifty too. I'm not sure how well dpad controls would fare for this sort of game though. I think it needs analog controls for moving around or aiming. Maybe the nunchuk could be used somehow to manuever the craft around or aim. They need to make it play like the Rogue Squadron games.
Oh yeah and they definitely need to avoid voice acting. I'd much rather they have the animal gibberish used in the original SNES SF game than the voices they did for SF64.
