[QUOTE="Ilived"]YES OMG!!! YES!!! Ok, everyone here is a Wii fan right(not)? So you post it here instead of where it really belongs(Wii Board)?Oscar-Wilde

Why wouldn't it belong here?
Obviously you are jealous, which would be reason enough for me to post it here rofl.

Jealous? What's wrong with you? I just don't like it when someone posts good news for any console in system wars. It contradicts the whole concept of it existing.

Are you a newb or something? Cause most gaming news, even news not console related get disscused and trashed here.

This is true. I get more news here in SW than any other board or even the GS's own homepage.

[QUOTE="Lance_Kalzas"]The trend towards charging for online gaming is going to continue to grow and there's nothing you can do about it. MS gives a great deal with only charging $50.00 per year for unlimited gaming and all the games that support it. Compare that to WoW, EQ, and the slew of online games for the PC where EACH one charges you $10-$15 per month. People cry about this way too much. Get a job if you don't have one and regardless, get over it.CorporateHammer

There is no trend. Games that use dedicated server like MMOs charge to fund the servers. Other than that MS with Live is the only one charging. Nintendo and Sony both offer free online gaming and Sony even offers dedicated servers which they have said will be paid for through ads. Then you look at MS who makes you pay and still gives you ads and no dedicated servers. If you want to be a tool go right ahead and defend Live a you want.

Hmmm.. OK I'll be a useful tool and pay $50 a year to play games over xbox live ,friends list, voice chat, messages, downloadable content, demos.... Yep. Enjoy your Sony and Nintendo network I know Im enjoying Live and have been for 5 years now.

You can keep paying $50 a year. I'm just proposing a system that'd offer most of those features for free.

Good points raised by all. I can't be the only one who doesn't care much for global scorekeeping. I wouldn't mind if it were more local. Take games like Counter Strike on the PC for example. The servers are provided by the community. A lot of servers have admins and stuff that'll boot and ban cheaters and hackers. Of course there are also servers that aren't as well looked after and players can run wild. Since it's free, you really can't ask for much and I'm willing to take that. A couple of other examples of decent free services are Blizzard's Battle.net and a variety of the smaller MMOs.

Of course big MMOs like WoW and EQ are going to charge for their services. They have good reason to. But XBL games aren't exactly like MMOs. If WoW were to be released on the 360, users will likely be charged a monthly $15 fee in addition to the XBL fee.

Instead of charging $50 a year for XBL, would it be possible for MS to let us host our own games? Maybe charge us a one-time fee of $50 or something and let us download some sort of 360 shell for our PCs. That shell would then be able to recognize and run 360 software and use them to host games. Sure there'd be no national leaderboards, but I don't really care for them as long as I get to play for free.

I doubt it. It makes much more sense to sell them all to you separately for a total of 20 dollars.

They may bring it out later, when the sales of each of the games slows, but I somehow doubt it.
SmashBrosLegend

That's what I was thinking too. Given the popularity of those older games, I don't see sales slowing down anytime soon. It'll probably be a while in that case. It's kind of bad of me to say, but having good graphics and sound go a long way for me. I can't stand a lot of Nintendo games because of their graphics alone. 16-bit systems are the sweet spot for me.

Oh and thanks for not replying with some smart#$! remark or using the dreaded ' :| ' smiley. :D

Now Mario 1, 2, 3 and Lost Levels have been released here in the US, do you think that Nintendo will ever release Mario All Stars on the VC? For those who don't know, it's a compilation of said Mario games released on the SNES with updated graphics and sound.

No stuck-up responses please. If you don't have anything nice or constructive to say, please don't reply.

It's not too much. As long as you have fun with them it's fine. I've had my Wii since launch and I only have 4 games for it.

WiiSports
Metroid Prime
Twilight Princess
Mario Galaxy

[QUOTE="-Ninja_Dog-"]

The 360 doesn't break anymore. They fixed the problem.

So there is zero reason not to buy one.

Go buy one. We need MS to win this gen.

-supercharged-

It may not break down anymore but it sure as hell is a money pit especially if you want a HD disc drive and WIFI. Plus after a 4 years it will be costing $200 just for online multiplayer!!!

That part is soo true.

If you're a racing fan like me, you'll appreciate PS3's F1 game. Sony has exclusive rights to the license for the time being so you can't really find it on anything else other than a Playstation gaming system. Oh and older gamers like myself can enjoy the likes of Time Crisis 4.

Ok first of all who needs Blu ray when you have a DVD player? alright just dumb. The 360 has better games then the PS3 plus better graphics because of the good lighting the 360 offers. Sure the 360 has a 33% failure rate but guess what you can just get it fixed for free or get a new one and because all of you people don't take care of it or you just play it 24/7. And yes i have to say the 360 looks cheap but is better.

Halochief_101

Sucks that you're usually out a 360 for a couple of weeks while it's out for repair. Not many people it seems can tell the difference in video qualities (30 fps vs 60 fps, 480p vs 720p and etc), but I can and bluray movies look a heck of a lot sharper than regular DVDs.
