Thanks guys for replies. I'm sorry I haven't been on here for two weeks. I will most likely opt for the magni + modi combo.

Just checked on the magni looks perfect for what I am looking for, and at the price, can't be beat. Honestly to this day I still don't know what a DAC truly does(<<<< idiot alert) and wouldn't know If needed/could use one.

Hello all. Well My Bravo V2 amp just committed suicide today and I need a replacement. I'm not looking to break the bank, but I would definitely like a headphone amp that's better than the V2(I'd rather not buy the same one again). I'm not to knowledgeable on amps, and I'm currently using AKG Q701's and they sound quite terrible with my on board sound card. Any help/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Once I saw Saints Row the Third with all DLC for 13.29....yeah I had to get it. This sale was just ridiculous lol. Went a little overboard but in total saved about $355. In the next sale I'll probably only get Crysis +warhead and Walking Dead if more episodes are out by then.

I decided to pick up Witcher 2 to finally cement the final purchase of this sale. I plan to just sell off The Witcher 2 for Xbox and make my money back and more. I'm not at all surprised though at Crysis still giving newer systems a run for their money, the game, IMO, looks better than Crysis 2 and can still hold a candle to newer titles. which I think is awesome. I'll probably pick it up in the Winter Sale once I've completed at least half these games.

I think I'm pretty much done for the sale. I've picked up: ARMA 2: CO Alan Wake Franchise Sniper Elite V2(actually got it on Amazon download for less than steam's sale. Cheaper and activates on Steam anyway. win-win) Civilization V GOTY Serious Sam 3 Darksiders Super Meat Boy Trine 2 GTA IV + episodes Splinter Cell Conviction Deluxe Legend of Grimrock Psychonauts I spent over $80 but I saved about $244. Yeah that's a fair trade-off in my book. I'm tempted to get Witcher 2 since it's on a flash sale but I currently have it on Xbox 360. Now before anyone jumps down my throat, I got the game on console cause AT THE TIME I couldn't run it on my PC. Plus I just learned the controls on the gamepad and just got a handle of the flow of combat to re-learn again on KB+m...ehh I don't know I got 3 hours to decide I guess. Also was eyeing Fable 3 but I heard it was a shoddy port and I really dislike GFWL, can anyone comment on this? worth it Fable 3+all dlc+TLC for $12.50?

Well I caved on the CIV 5 deal as well as the Batman AC dlc. So far my list is: Alan Wake-with American Nightmare pack Darksiders Civ 5 GOTY Arkham City DLC I'm tempted to get Serious Sam 3 and Saints row the third franchise pack, but I'm mostly waiting for ARMA 2 to be on sale(like many others I'm assuming).

I'm so waiting for an ARMA 2 flash sale/daily deal. So far I've only picked up Darksiders for $5 and Alan Wake Complete(with American Nightmare) for $10. Wow Alan Wake so good on PC compared to Xbox lol(obviously right ;) ) I'm tempted to pick up the DLC for Arkham City as well as Civ 5...arrgh I just don't know what to do('Shakes fist at heavens' DAMN YOU STEAM!)

You should break your budget a little and get the $215 NFB-12.1Amp/DAC.

Here is the link to the Head-Fi thread.

When it comes to powering my K702s I switch between the Little Dot MKIII and an Audio GD NFB-10SE (the NFB-10SE remains my dedicated DAC), yet to keep within your budget the NFB-12.1 would be a great option. It has some nice drive and is equipped with a great DAC, so even if in the future you upgrade to a different amplifier, you can still use the NFB-12.1 as a dedicated DAC and pre-amp.

NVIDIATI

Ouch, $34 to ship means it's a little more in the $250 range. Trust me, I still would get it NVIDIATI but I forgot to mention I need to also purchase a CPU fan, so this big purchase will have to wait for now.

I actually think I will go with this soundcard since it has optical, unlike the xonar dx:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829271001 for the time being, then purchase the NFB 12.1.

About how long you think it will take to arrive? In any case, would it be just better to plug that amp directly to the on-board sound or the sound card I linked above. I know it'll be around $320 if I get both. Just trying to see what's the better option: Amp/Dac to sound card or Amp/dac to mobo's optical. Honestly I really don't know these things.
