@rawkstar007 Until recently GameSpot was one of the only sites with a policy of never attending review events. We've changed that policy not only because it impacted our ability to deliver reviews on time, but also because nobody reading our reviews really seemed to care. On those occasions that our reviews are in any way based on time spent at a review event, that will always be noted.
@Nautalus79 We have folks working on a replacement calendar for the homepage that should be an improvement. If everything goes according to plan it'll list upcoming reviews and such in addition to shows.

@SecularSage Second Take reviews are intended to offer a different and hopefully interesting perspective on games that we've already reviewed. They're subjective by design. We're also working on re-reviews of games in the manner that you suggest, though these aren't labeled as Second Takes. Rather, they usurp our original reviews as the most prominently featured on the site. League of Legends was the first game to get this treatment and we have a pretty lengthy list of games that we intend to get to just as soon as these next-gen console launches are behind us. Many of those are MMOs or free-to-play, but we've definitely talked a lot internally about how to approach re-reviews of games that have benefited greatly from user-generated content as well.
@endorbr We didn't receive an advance copy of the game on this occasion and so purchased one from our local GameStop on the day of release. We'd have loved to have a review ready on day one, but there's not much that we can do without a copy of the game.
