@WillyWynn Since GTA Online didn't launch alongside GTA V, we had little choice but to review GTA V separately. It's true that we could have covered GTA Online as an update to the GTA V review, but we've instead opted to review it in the same way we would a piece of DLC which is, in effect, what it is.

One of the benefits of this approach is that, in time, when GTA Online evolves into something quite different, we'll be able to revisit this review without impacting the review of GTA V which, in relative terms, is unlikely to change significantly at this point.

@mtdew332 Our goal is to present you with different perspectives rather than just different opinions. There's a difference. We have no interest in simply posting one positive review and one negative review, but believe that there's value in, for example, the perspective of a newcomer versus the perspective of an experienced player.

@longtonguecat It does, though we obviously can't get to all of the games that need updated reviews right away. Team Fortress 2 is definitely on the list.

@max-hit Kevin's review LoL was indeed great. It was also written back when LoL only had about 12 champions and was a quite different game. We no longer felt that Kevin's review (which was also a review of the $20 retail version, which you can't even buy anymore) was accurate or helpful for anyone, so we opted to post an updated review. Kevin's review is still on GameSpot though, and isn't going anywhere.

@Sky_Stifler Paid reviews aren't something that we've ever done here, and it's something that we'll ever do, regardless of any changes that we make. Multiple reviews are intended to offer different perspectives, for example we might choose to assign an additional review for Assassin's Creed IV.

Our main review will undoubtedly be written by someone who has played every game in the series, but if you've never played an AC game, perhaps a second review written by someone who also never played an AC game will be more relevant to you. That review will cover things like how it feels to get into the story this late, and whether the game's tutorials are adequate for new players or make too many assumptions that you're already familiar with the series.

@Mcbain3764 Granularity doesn't end with 100 possible scores. I believe there used to be (might still be) a site/magazine in Europe that graded games on a 1000-point scale. The line has to be drawn somewhere and, right now, we feel like a 10-point scale is sufficient.

@M3o5nster Did you really just say that video games are an art form but suggest that reviews of them should deal only with mechanics and such? That's like saying that book reviews should only discuss whether or not the pages turn properly.

@haze0986 @zerooo0 If you actually read the review instead of just the good/bad entries, you'll see that there were multiple reasons why the game wasn't awarded a 10. You should also know that games don't all start out as 10s and then lose points, they have to earn every point they get.
