they work fine. the screen size can be a bit off putting at first but it's no big deal.

i'm with you on the retail games thing, not a lot to choose from - especially recently, although Monster Hunter is good for those so inclined.

just found the setting for this (console settings>shutdown>background downloads). i still can't answer the original question but i imagine the console would be in the same kinda state as when you switch it off with a controller charging.

overall i still like hardcore team deatchmatch in COD4, especially on Chinatown. i know a lot of people really hate that map, but i always seem to do well on it.

recently i've been playing a whole lot of battlefield 1943 though. Conquest is an awesome game mode and the maps are near faultless.

does pokemon count? theyre not based directly on the tv series but they do use the same game world and pokemon as the most recent tv episodes/movies.

i second the horrible, cheating AI in fuel. i hate rubberband AI and thats a good example of it at it's worst

actually just remembered the existence of Mega Man 9... that's pretty hard for a modern game

installing to hard drive is a good idea. try that.
