Is it me, or does he go out of his way to make snide comments about Halo even though he claimed to have never actually played a Halo game in his Halo 3 review?Leejjohno

I never heard such a claim... where does he actually state he never played it?

I'm pretty sure in the Halo 3 review he said he'd never played it and everyone else said how good it was, yadda yadda yadda.

If anything this proves blu ray isn't needed for gaming. I think Stranglehold did the same thing a while back, but since it was released nobody ever talked about it. Then again, nobody ever talked about Stranglehold in general.

This is what usually happens- Good looking 360 game comes out, cows complain and moan about how it's over rated.

Good looking PS3 title announced, cows rave like idiots and never shut up about it and how it's the graphics king/ game-x killer

Game comes out, and a few months after release, an even better looking game is announced for the 360. It goes on, and on, and on.

"Well written"

Big spoilers btw.

If the injecty stuff supresses the nanomachines, why does Snake take it? Isn't the nanomachines shutting off that causes everyone to go crazy? It's not just Snake. What about the soldiers in the helecopter at the end of Act 2? They take it to avoid being effected by the nanomachines deactivating. IT MAKES NO SENSE
What was the point of MGS4? The story was utterly pointless apart from wrapping up the convuluted mess that the other games were, which ironically resulted in more convolutions. In the first game, Liquid wants the remains of Big Boss out of respect. When he gets the 'remains' in MGS4, he burns them out of spite. He takes over Outer Haven to destroy the Patriots, and everyone's aparently against this despite the patriots having obviously ruined everyone's lives. Then, at the end of the game, you have to destroy Outer Haven and hence stop Liquid and the Patriots-which is EXACTLY WHAT LIQUID WAS TRYING TO DO ALL ALONG. They even rectify this by having Liquid stand by you and tell you how awesome it is that the patriots no longer exist.
Chances are I've got some stuff wrong (seeing how utterly confusing the whole thing is), but my point is clear.

[EDIT]

Oh, yeah. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO RAIDEN'S OTHER ARM IN ACT 5.

Anything that uses a screenshot of Google earth on a flat plain for an "expansive landscape" deserves less than a 6.

I think what many people seem to fail to see is that just about every console RTS in existance has been a rushed port from the PC and has hence turned out terrible. PC RTSes are designed to work with mouse and keyboard, not a game pad. The same applies with console shooters going over to the PC, which is ironic because that generally indicates hermits have really bad double standards.

Halo Wars has been designed from the ground up to work as a console RTS, and you know what? It does. It gets rid of the management that plagues console RTSes due to an unsuitable control format and succeeds at being FUN. I'm not a huge RTS fan, but I utterly love Command and Conquer, Dawn of War, and Company of Heroes. Hell, I actually like Starcraft. But it amazes me how people think excessive farming and management is a BAD thing. It's like saying it would be a bad thing if you didn't have to wait half an hour for a train.

Don't know really. They've both been simplified in the name of accesability and actually being fun (a problem many RTS games face) and providing as little waiting time as possible. It's a toughy. Halo Wars is designed to be based entirely on combat as there's very little resource gathering, but Dawn of War has a catch 22 situation where you're trying to build and maintain a platoon of soldiers but need to expend them to gain resources and much of the fighting is over resource points. Dawn of War will definately be the more palm-sweatingly intense one and Halo Wars will be the easiest to sit down and chill with. They're two different experiences really, and they're both reallt good. Then again, Dawn of War has freaking TYRANIDS. Not those crappy rip-off zerg things, GOD DAMN TYRANIDS. Carnifexes are fun :)
