@SoNin360: If I remember correctly, the original PS3 (fat version) was backwards compatible. The thinner versions were not. Ironically enough, I have a lot of the older systems. I do it because I love playing a lot of the games in their glory; blocky, crappy graphics and all. I will also admit that I do buy games when they are released on the newer systems because the developers added more to the story and overall experience.

Actually, all models of PS3 play PS1 games.

The early PS3 models however, played PS1 AND PS2 games.

I still love SW, but back in the day this place was insane. Badass hype threads with epic meltdowns, union wars, and some of the finest trolling you'd ever see.

Gerstmann-gate and the site reboot did some major damage, but nothing compares to MS and Ninty both dropping the ball this gen, which killed off the lemmings and scattered the sheep. Shortly after, Czarizard exiled our true king, SolidTy, and has had an iron grip on the forum's narrative ever since.

Even banished, I agree, Old School SW FTW

Four games for PS4 again. Super Motherload is a fun game, too bad I already own it. I'll give JC3 and Downwell a whirl.

PS4:

  1. Just Cause 3, PS4
  2. Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry, PS4
  3. Downwell, PS4
  4. Super Motherload, PS4

PS3

  • Super Motherload, PS3 (Crossbuy w/PS4)
  • Snakeball, PS3

Vita

  • Downwell, PS Vita (Crossbuy w/PS4)
  • Level 22, PS Vita

@mjorh: $0.

I'll wait for a wait for GOTY edition instead or bust. Move on to other games.

No, I'm happy with my launch Xbone and I will skip over this product and I will pick up an Xbtwo/XB4 when that launches instead.

I don't like the idea of spending hundreds of dollars to have access to the same game I can play now. If the XboneX/XbX was offered at launch I would probably have bit, but I don't like the idea of spending a LOT of $$$ to keep buying the upgraded hardware for the same games (GBA, DS, 3DS, Pro, XbX, etc). It won't have exclusives, so I'm not interested.

I'm not interested in the mid gen consoles that play the same games I already can play today. I would rather use hundreds of dollars picking up other machines (that play different libraries), peripherals, and games.

If I never bought a $500 Xbone, I would buy the best version of hardware out, but since I already own the Xbone, I'm good until next gen.

@The-Butcher248: I wouldn't bet on it. What will the next generation that's coming in 2 years have that X1X doesn't? Support for 64K TVs?

@Enragedhydra

Next generation will have exclusives and new games not available on the midgen consoles. The midgen consoles won't have exclusives and play the same games we have today at higher fidelity.

Next generation will also not be limited by last gen hardware design choices either, there is more to a generational leap than resolution.

In ND I trust.

Whatever game they make, I buy it. I don't care if it's a sequel or new IP, as long as ND is behind it. They are one of the studios I can buy games from and not worry about disliking the game.

If ND felt there was more to tell in the TLOU universe, then I'm all for it. There was a time when TLOU was a new IP and many doubted it. I'm not on the "doubt" bandwagon that many seem to do with each ND release.

Based on history, the PS5 is releasing in 2020-2021 at $399.

2019 is pushing it, but possible, but they won't go over $399 USD.

They aren't going to short change the PS4's (number one seller this gen) life in the meantime.

Throughout the years since 2005's launch of the 360, I lost 5 new 360s to RROD/E74 errors. I replaced them as I never could permanently fix them.

I'd recommend the same.

Good luck.
